Young {at heart} Love

There is not much about this image that is not beautiful. And that is not a boast in my photography work, but rather a compliment to the subjects and the moment between the two of them. Don’t you hope you look this amazing and full of laughter at the same age?

Happy 4th of July!

Having lived outside of the U.S. for nearly 3 years (and subsequently missing a couple of Independence Day’s) I have a greater appreciation for America. I am grateful for all of the freedoms we have and ever so thankful for all of the service men and women past and present who have defended our country at home and abroad. Happy 4th of July!

2-year-old Miss J – Mt. Juliet Children’s Photographer

What a fun session I had with Miss J and her parents. They wanted to record her as a new two-year old so we set up a session at the Fannie Mae Dees Park in Nashville. This park is more commonly known as “The Dragon Park” due to the dragon mosaic sculptures in the park. I didn’t get a good shot of the whole sculptures, so if you are interested in seeing them, go here.

This session reminded me of the great joy children take in playing! Just take a look at these shots taken in rapid succession. You can see the anticipation turning into sheer happiness.

You’ve already seen little Miss J earlier this week here – showing that sometimes playing and being two is hard work and a tear must be shed! You might also have seen her on my Facebook page here or here or here.

This session was also a great reminder of why I love to photograph children “in their element.” See if you don’t agree….

Thanks to Miss J’s parents for a fun (HOT!) session!

Switzerland {color/colour}

As promised, here are the color photos from our time in Switzerland.

Another swan, but I love the reflections and ripples in this!

In many ways this photo summarizes what I think of when I think of Switzerland: sun, lakes and mountains.

Having fun in one of the many tunnels in Switzerland.

I also put this in the black and white one, but then I decided I liked this processing more so thought I’d share it too.

Probably my absolute photo of our time in Switzerland. This is actually in Zurich where there was this amazing sunset that lasted for a very long time. A photographer’s dream.
