S Family

About a week and a half ago I got to spend the day photographing numerous families on our lovely campus. I walked away from that day with loads of photos (as you might imagine!) filled with some beautiful children (and parents) and precious memories. It’s hard to post all my favorites after sessions, so I thought I’d try something new.  I’m sure you will see it again! Thanks to the S Family for being so flexible and clearly showing your love for one another during your session. I had a blast with you!

Land of Light

I am convinced that part of the amazing beauty of Scotland is the way the sunlight shines on the beautiful, often rugged, landscape. The relationship between the clouds and the sun is a special one, and an ever-changing one — especially here!  I could not help but share some of my favorite recent moments of capturing the light hitting the land (or water) in a mesmerizing way. I will miss this place when it is time to leave.

Mylo

A couple weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing a colleague’s three month old son, Mylo, along with herself and her partner.  They had some amazing windows in their home that my camera and I just ate up! While photographing and again during the editing process I’ve been reminded of why I love photographing families — because I get to capture those tender moments as parents interact with their children. It’s such a special thing to be a part of that for a brief span of time that will ultimately last forever through a photograph. So Elizabeth and Rez, thanks for letting me come into your home and be with you and your precious Mylo.

Field Art

It’s been at least a year now that I’ve been wanting to photograph round bales of hay. I love the contrast of the hay bales with the sky and field. And infra-red, black and white editing brings out that contrast further.

Dr. Green

Graduating with any degree (hey, even kindergarten!) is one of life’s moments to celebrate. It often means hard work, perseverance, sacrifice and discipline have had to triumph over many other more desirable things in life. It is for such reasons the PhD is to be most celebrated! When our friend, Chris, graduated this summer with his PhD it was time to pause and make a few memories on our beloved King’s College campus. Lord willing, Mark will get to wear the same rob within the year!! Well done, Chris (and Rachel [his wife])!  We miss you!

Cuddly Callum

There is not much not to love about this little boy.  He grins almost constantly, is full of “squeezableness,” and generally a very pleasant baby. I was looking forward to this photo shoot with much anticipation because of aforementioned goodness.  Plus, his mom is one of my good friends and I’ve watched his sister grow up for the past two years so hanging out with them is always a bonus.  I’m sure you might even remember his mom’s maternity shoot, and his 3 week old shots (he’s gained a few pounds since then!). Don’t you just want to squeeze him?!wpid918-IMG_2004.jpg
